Moving Forward

Updated: Dec 8, 2018

As a student and teacher I find it most valuable to put my training into practice. Throughout my years of professional development I find myself investing in interactive, hands on training. I become highly motivated in gear of wanting to incorporate new found teaching tools. Professional development tends to keep me energized with a growth mindset. While attending Lamar's Digital Learning & Leading program I've found two factors pushing me forward in my learning. I find the COVA model to be the most useful while facilitating my learning comparing to old tactics of research and write. I love having choice and voice in creating my assignments, just as I offer my own students. And too, I find it proprietarily rewarding while taking part in professional learning networks. According to Marc-Andre Lalande's video a PLN is a way of describing the group of people that you connect with to learn their ideas, their questions, their reflections, and their references.

"Your PLN is not limited to online interactions, but it is that online, global interactive part that really makes it special. He says that you get to choose your role in that group. Choose if you want to lurk–just check out what people are saying–or if you share; because you choose when to do so, and how to do so (Lalande, 2012)."
